In JOY!

What are you looking forward to? I mean, what is bringing you joy to think about…a cool vacation, your child’s graduation, a wedding, seeing your new love interest, a new job, a date with your spouse, blah, blah, blah?

Take a moment to feel that! Really get into the way that thing you are looking forward to makes you feel. Breath it in…. hold it for about 8 seconds then breath that joy into your current reality.

I’ve been reading (listening to) many perspectives about bringing good stuff into my vortex and what I’ve learned is this…

“Good things start with an inner state of joy!” Ok, I know all you skeptics are thinking..

“oh here she goes again with all this think positive crapola”

“Yeah right if that worked I’d be rich!”

“If being all joyful works, why is she disabled?”

First of all, this is not thinking positive, this is focusing on the feeling of joy in your life and raising your vibration.

Here’s an example:

When your boss reams you for an error or something, channel the joy by hearing them out from the perspective of joy. Embrace your reaction, but don’t live there.  Remember that joyous feeling and being thankful that your boss is giving you feedback at all! If the feedback was delivered in a way that didn’t resonate with you, be grateful that you learned how not to treat people who work for you.  Gratitude is a great way to hit the joy reset button!

It takes practice!  I slip and reset sometimes several times a day.

Secondly, I am quite happy, thank you very much! I went through the storm of grieving the loss of my ability to walk! I use the abilities I have to keep physically fit, eat right, maintain a professional image, and live a life filled with plenty of things to be joyous about.

Below is a list of things that I think about when life delivers those hellish learning opportunities that attempt to interrupt my joy:

  • A really fun conversation with my son where we laugh so hard that we almost spit food out of our nostrils
  • A wonderful day at home with my very silly, uber lazy dogs
  • A time when a client or a friend thanked me for helping them through something
  • An ocean view with the sweet smell of the sea with sand and boats floating by in the distance
  • A great morning meditation

I could go on and on.  I have so much joy, and so do you!

What’s on your list of things that bring you joy?  Write a few down and keep them with you.

Let’s focus on the joy in our lives. Most of us live lives that are far more rich in joy than sorrows and for those of us in the middle of a ”doo-doo” storm, know (with joy) that it is temporary!

Here’s a mantra for you to repeat…

I am In Joy right here, right now!

Hey, if you’re not feeling it… Fake it til you make it!

Feeling down?  Let joy in!

Angry at someone or something? Remember your joy!

Hold yourself accountable for your joy!

Love, light, and JOY!

Joyously,
