Disappointment Is A Part of Living!

(The guy in the photo is my son!)

Man I tell you the twists and turns of life can lift you up, then slap you down like old moldy hamburger meat! Sometimes it feels like someone out there is playing a joke, a trick without the treat, an April fools gag! Until you realize… Damn, this is really happening! Ok so what now? What’s next?

What I know for sure is that disappointment is a part of living a full life! Stay focused on what you need to do to get through it. Connect with people you love and trust. people who will remind you that everything will be alright. Reach out to people who will listen to you and lift you up! This ain’t your first rodeo! And certainly won’t be your last!

Don’t judge yourself for the way you feel. Allow yourself to feel it and practice self care. Get plenty of rest, hang out with friends or family, heck be alone if that helps. BUT be careful not to isolate yourself into a depressed state that you’ll have to climb out of.

Here are a few things that can get you off of the ”stinkin’ thinkin’” highway:

  • Get in a good workout or go for a walk, movement can shift energy
  • Hang out with children, just try being sad around kids!
  • Listen to your favorite music….LOUD….dance AND sing
  • Meditate, pray, chant, whatever connects you with your higher power
  • Watch a good movie, comedies work best for me
  • Get a massage
  • Write

Take care of you. Disappointment is just part of life! Coping with this will better prepare you for the next!

Get up, dust yourself off, tomorrow is a new day!

Love, Light & Coping like a BOSS!
